A Lab Account is a test End Customer organization that you use to try your Device Models and store as a customer would. Xyte provisions one for each Partner automatically, and more are available on request.

What a Lab Account can do

• Claim your Draft (unpublished) Device Models, so you can test a model before customers see it.
• See your own Device Models, plus those of vendors you are connected to.
• Count a pending connection as a connection, so a vendor's models show up before the connection is approved.
• Use the Lab payment method to make test purchases without a credit card.
• Choose the payment method at checkout, including Purchase Order where the store allows it.

Limits

• Draft models can be claimed only by the Lab Accounts of the Partner that owns them. Customers and other Partners' Lab Accounts can't claim them.
• A Lab Account is not a Connect+ organization.
• Connect+ vendors' models are not available in a Lab Account unless you are connected to that vendor.
• Partner lists and dashboards hide Lab Accounts by default. Turn on Include lab and sandbox accounts to show them.
• An organization can't be both a Lab Account and a sandbox account.

Common questions

Why can't my Lab Account claim a device from another vendor?
A Lab Account sees only your models and the models of vendors you are connected to. To test with another Connect+ vendor's device, use a Connect+ account. You can sign up for one at get.xyte.io (Sign up).

Why don't I see my Lab Account in my dashboards?
Partner lists and dashboards hide lab and sandbox accounts. Turn on Include lab and sandbox accounts to include them.

Can I get more than one Lab Account?
Yes. Contact Xyte to request more.

Can my customers pay by Purchase Order?
Lab Accounts can choose Purchase Order where the store allows it. For Purchase Order availability for your customers, confirm with Xyte. See the Commerce FAQ.
